Hi, Sam. It's Me, Sunday.

Dear Sam,

Hi. It’s me, Sunday. You aren’t awake yet so I decided to leave you a note to let you know what you’re missing.

The house is so quiet that you can hear the sunshine trickling through the windows. It’s wondering where everybody is.

I took a peek outside. The garden is starting to look like itself again. The flowers seem happy that summer’s come around. I know I am.  Gray is definitely not my color.

You really should get up now, you know. It looks like the perfect day for your boys to go out for a run.

And for your little girl to pick some flowers.

Hurry. The trees are waiting.

Come on. Wake up. I’ve made coffee. Come. Share a cup with me while the house is silent and we can listen to the sun.

Love,
Sunday

Absolutely divine. Love the rounded archways. Any real life tours going?

You have a beautiful home, Sam! I wish Sunday would greet me so nicely! I had to make my own coffee. :)

Yes, lovely home, so nice to have friends to share that with isn't it? Thank you for sharing with us. You know, I dont' think there's anything more depressing than to be blessed and have no one to share with. It's a true sign that we need humanity. And Sunday. Coffee's great by the way:)

*Sigh* Alas the North East is still on the chilly and dormant side. :P The bulbs are just starting to sprout and the first tinges of green are peppered thru the lawn. There is still the occasional snow drift here and there - refusing to relinquish our yard to Spring. But Spring should prevail soon (hopefully by the end of March).

It was a lovely post. Makes me wish I lived where you do. You have a gorgeous home and lovely garden by the way. (P.S. if that is your daughter holding the flower she is absolutely adorable!!!)

Tranquility, ahhhh. I remember hearing about the little play structure floating about in the flood some years ago, so it's great to see everything is in order. Loved the interplay of straight and curvy shapes in your home (and I just got inspired to make something similar to your wind chime!)

I felt like calling out to your boys, "Hey, wait up!" Tell the little princess thanks for the flowers! Were those sampaguitas? Fragrant!

Kate - Thanks! We have a license to be lazy on Sundays :D

Malen - Hi! Thank you! The garden was pretty sad-looking before Summer started. I'm really happy the flowers are starting to bloom. :D

MuMuGB -Thanks! (It' a happy place, but it doesn't have the same history as "The Sutffed Cat's House" ;-) My hubby and I built it before we got married.) I miss Springtime in Europe. We only have two seasons over here: wet and dry!

EQ - Thank you! It's the people in it that make a house a home :D

Kelly - Thanks! :D I've trained the coffee maker timer, er, Sunday well ;-)

Abigail - Thank you for sharing my Sunday with me. It wouldn't be Sunday without coffee and lovely people to share it with :D

Christina - Thanks!! Your box of sunshine is in the mail :D Yes, the little girl in the photo is my five year old (and the boys running in the park are the hubby and my son.) :D

Scrollwork - Haha! Yes! The playhouse survived the flood. Sadly, it's a bit neglected now. The kids have outgrown it, I think. Sigh. p.s. I don't know what the white flower is. The princess just picked it in the park. :D

Socky - Thank you! It is a nice place to write and daydream :D

Stacey - Thank you!!! :D

Elizabeth - Hi! So glad that I was able to share a glimpse of this day with you. I felt that I needed a place to capture and preserve this magical time :D

Meredith - Thank you! :D It's really my favorite time of the week. Who doesn't love Sunday? (Poor Monday - it's has an impossible benchmark! LOL)

You are like a juicy morsel of love...and it shows not only in your words and perspective but in your home, the cradle of your core. Thank you for sharing your magic with us, Samantha.

What a beautiful home you have! I'm totally in love with the garden and the stone steps. Wonderful photos, Samantha!

I definitely need coaxing to wake early on a Sunday! Such fun photos ~ :) You're home is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Samantha Sotto said...

Serendipity - LOL! Your Sunday must be related to my Monday ;-)

Julie - Thank you! The stone steps are one of my favorite parts too. The initial plans for the house didn't include them, but when we found out how much it would cost to make the backyard level with the rest of the house, the stone steps saved the day! :D

Donea - Thanks!! Sunday must have an effect of gravity - it makes it harder to get out of bed! ;-)

You have a beautiful home and after looking at your pictures I'm getting the urge to redecorate the house! It was so nice of Sunday to wake you up so gently. My Sundays yell at me to clean and do the laundry. Bummer!

Samantha Sotto said...

Haha! Don't be fooled. The house only looks this way before everyone gets out of bed and messes it up :D
